What we do
We evaluate school suitability on a child by school basis. To directly benefit pupils and thus also improve the
learning environment in schools HiScore provides families and schools with an independently administered research
website that encourages unbiased sharing of student, parent and school personnel data to predict and monitor the
suitability of schooling for individuals.
Suitability predictions are made by evaluating alignment of student, parent and school perceptions. Survey data
are analysed and presented in a series of professional reports that profile the psychological attributes, motivation,
engagement, academic performance and overall wellbeing of students.
Essentially our surveys map differences in the perceptions of school stakeholders that predict relative alignment or
misalignment in the socialising culture of available school choices, as seen through "student eyes".
Family-School Partnership
The notion of family-school partnership is based on the following understandings:
- On registration schools (through the principal) agree to confidentially share school culture data with families
to enable pupil-school engagement (families cannot export school data, they only see how it relates to their child).
- On registration parent/carers agree to give their "School of Choice" permission to access the reports of enrolled students.
- At the principal's discretion (unless permission is withdrawn earlier in writing by a parent/carer)
this data can be shared with authorised school personnel to benefit the child’s education.
- To safeguard the family-school partnership, only authorised school personnel can; register, complete surveys and access student reports.
- School personnel agree to store student reports responsibly.
- Parent/carers can withdraw permission at any time (in writing to the school principal).
If requested, the principal can delete HiScore student reports from the school record in your "My Participants" dashboard panel.
